We are devastated but we have to inform you that we have to cancel the German leg of the Bloom-Tour for February 2022.
This was our biggest fear as a band. Since the release of ‘In A Box’ and the tour we wanted to go on in 2020 we were waiting impatiently for our very first headline tour ever. But the pandemic created a situation which is hard to control 100% and that leads to an artist and their team having to organize and reorganize studio time, shootings and live shows over and over again.
We spent the past couple of months preparing every detail of this tour and kept believing in a way of touring that is as safe as possible for all of us. Even though the workload rose far over the usual amount we were 100% sure we could pull through with it until the beginning of the week.
After many conversations with our partners in booking we decided to cancel all German dates without postponing for now.
You can get your money back from your retailers, just contact them and you will get your money back. If you have any further questions about this don’t hesitate to write to us.
By early 2022 we will sit down together with our booking agency and try to find new dates for Germany asap – we will let you know first!
You all know that artists can barely survive without the live sector so it’s becoming harder and harder for all musicians worldwide to make a living from their jobs. If you feel the need to support your favorite artists (whoever they are) the best way right now is to buy merchandise, CDs & vinyls. There are so many bands and artists who have to cancel what brings them the most money: live shows.
We know it’s so annoying that everyone seems to shout at you trying to convince you to consume their goods & services but by the end of the pandemic there has to be services, there has to be art, there has to be music again.
We want to thank all of our partners who worked their a**es off the whole year to make this possible. Thank you for believing in us during these times, you deserve all the love.

Als sich 2016 im beschaulichen Paderborn Kid Dad als Band zusammengetan haben, konnte die Truppe um Frontmann Marius Vieth (Vocals/Guitar), Maximilian Alexander Zdunek (Bass/Backing Vocals), MichaelReihle (Drums) und Joshua Meinert (Guitar) ihr großes Potential nur erahnen. Anfangs inspiriert von internationalen Alternative- Helden wie Radiohead oder Placebo, machten sie sich mitaußergewöhnlichen Soundwänden und atmosphärischen Gitarren-Sounds einen Namen. Jetzt öffnet dieBand ein neues Kapitel in ihrer jungen Bandgeschichte – und wartet auf ihrer neuen ›Bloom‹ EP mit einem Sound auf, welcher bereits international für Furore sorgt. Die neuen Songs bringen die Jungs jetzt erstmals auf Tournee und kündigen für Febraur 2022 ihre große ›Bloom‹ Tour durch 14 deutsche Städte an!
Mit der neuen ›Bloom‹ EP läuten Kid Dad die bisher aufregendste Phase ihrer Karriere ein: Schon die erste Vorab-Single ›Apartment‹ markierte eine Neuerfindung für die Band und überführte ihren Sound vombisherigen Post-Hardcore in stilvollen Art-Pop mit einem melancholisch-romantischen Text. Die neue Single-Auskopplung ›As Soon As America‹ knüpft an diese Veränderungen an und öffnet sich, mit vielFingerspitzengefühl, lyrisch erstmals auch breiteren Themen: »Es ist häufig von Gegenwind begleitet, wenn Künstler*innen Länder, Staaten, System oder politische Konstrukte kritisieren – vor allem, wenn es nicht das eigne ist. Das wissen wir sehr gut und deshalb war es für uns stets ein schmaler Grat zwischen einemunreflektierten Fingerzeig auf andere und dem Verlangen danach, der eigenen Wut über Ungerechtigkeit, Leid und Unmenschlichkeit Luft zu machen,« so die Band aus Paderborn.
Auf ›As Soon As America‹ sollte man die Ohren jedoch nicht nur auf die Texte richten, auch die musikalische Seite weiß mit neuen Impulsen zu überzeugen: So treffen hier u.a. HipHop- und Gospel-Einflüsse auf Bedroom Pop mit Drum Machine. Eine spannende Entwicklung, die auch international bereits Aufmerksamkeit erhielt und Kid Dad u.a. auf Sirius XM Radio (USA) sowie BBC1 und Radio X (England) Airplay bescherte.
